Experian buys social media company Techlightenment

Experian has added social media to its product range with the acquisition of a majority stake in Techlightenment, a data-driven social media business headquartered in the UK.

Techlightenment has worked for clients including GlaxoSmithKline, Nissan and Direct Line.  Its services cover strategy, advertising and constructing social media presences and applications. The company is expected to have revenues of approximately £5m by the end of the year and employs 40 people.

Techlightenment will now trade as ‘Techlightenment, an Experian company’ and will report to Mark Zablan, managing director of Experian’s Marketing Services division.

The existing management team, which includes co-founder and co-chief executive Ankur Shah, will stay with the company.
